Course Description

There’s more to the BA role than just taking notes or scribing at meetings. This course helps us put the analysis in the Business Analyst! Let’s create order from the chaos and create a deeper understanding of what was uncovered during the elicitation process. We’ll learn the nuts and bolts of modeling as well as how to use models as an alternative elicitation method, and how to extract requirements from models.

Take this course alone, or as Course 4 of The Business Analysis Certificate program.

CDU/PDU: Earn 14 CDU/PDU for both IIBA and PMI certification

Prerequisites: We recommend the Introduction to Business Analysis course or equivalent experience.

    • Process Modeling (Process Maps, Swim Lanes)

    • Data Modeling (Data matrix, Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), Class Diagram, Concept Modeling)

    • Interface Modeling (Prototyping, Mockups, Wireframes, Storyboards)

    • Interaction Modeling (Use Cases, SIPOC)

    • Decision Modeling (Decision Trees, Decision Tables, Weighted Ranking)

    • Problem Analysis / Root Cause Analysis (Ishikawa Diagram, 5 Whys)

    • Business Rules Analysis in modeling
